Blessing Dad's Camilla
William and Harry attend their father's wedding to his love of 30 years Camilla Parker Bowles, 57. Harry, who was said to be the uneasiest about the relationship, later tells reporters, "She's always been very close to me and William...She's not the wicked stepmother. She's a wonderful woman and she's made our father very, very happy which is the most important thing."
Royal Army Men
Harry begins his life in the Army, arriving with his father Prince Charles at the historic Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst for 44 weeks of officer training. In April 2006, Harry graduates as a Second Lieutenant in the Army. The following December, his brother William also graduates as a Second Lieutenant from the same academy.
A Concert for Diana
William and Harry plan a concert to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother's death. It takes place in London on July 1 (Diana's 46th birthday) with Duran Duran, Diddy and Fergie as performers. "This evening is about all that our mother loved in life – her music, her dance, her charities and her family and friends," William tells the 62,000-strong crowd.
Ready for Iraq?
Harry, 22, begins a course that troops usually undergo before heading to the war zone. The media speculate that he will serve on the frontline in Iraq, possibly becoming the first senior British royal to do so since the early 1980s. But in May, the head of the British Army announces that Harry will not be deployed to Iraq due to the threat to his safety and those around him.
Harry and William plan a service with their father to mark the 10th anniversary of Diana's death. At the service, Harry gives a heartfelt speech: "To us, just two loving children, she was quite simply the best mother in the world." Also in attendance is Queen Elizabeth, Elton John and photographer Mario Testino.
Harry & Chelsy Split
After more than three years together, Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy Davy call it quits, according to London newspapers that claim Davy, 22, was upset with the prince's playboy lifestyle, including his attending the rugby world cup final in Paris in October instead of celebrating her birthday with her.
Harry Fighting in Afghanistan
British army officials confirm that Harry has been fighting on the frontline in Afghanistan since Christmas Eve. The Palace and the Ministry of Defense hoped to keep the mission secret. The 23-year-old Prince, a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, told the British Press Association that serving in Afghanistan gave him "the chance to do the soldiering I wanted to do from ever since I joined." Once news breaks, Harry's sent home, where he reunites with girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
Harry pays homage to his 85-year-old grandmother and embarks on a royal tour of Central and South America, the Bahamas and Jamaica on behalf of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, marking her 60-year reign. During his stopovers, Harry tastes rum in Belize and bonds with schoolchildren in the Bahamas before racing against Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt in Jamaica.
Harry serves as an ambassador (along with sister-in-law Kate and brother William) to the British Olympic delegation and the British Paralympics squad for the 2012 London Games. The royal bachelor cheers on his country in events ranging from equestrian (where royal cousin Zara Phillips took home a silver) and beach volleyball.
