Golden Glow
Competing against nominated cast mates Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross, Hatcher wins the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. "[ABC] gave me a second chance at a career when I couldn't have been a bigger has-been," she says during a teary acceptance speech.
Idol Canoodle
Hatcher is photographed kissing American Idol host Ryan Seacrest in L.A. "I haven't seen him since that day," Hatcher tells Oprah Winfrey in May, adding that it was their third date but first time out alone and that Seacrest later broke it off. "He called and said, 'I don't think I can do this with you.'"
A Shocking Revelation
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hatcher says she was molested between the ages of 5 and 9 by her aunt's then-husband Richard Stone. "This is something I've tried to hide my whole life," she says. "All I did was blame myself." She broke her silence in 2002 by submitting an anonymous deposition to help secure a conviction against Stone, who was facing charges of having molested a 14-year-old girl.
Toast of the Town
Promoting her memoir Burnt Toast in an interview with PEOPLE, Hatcher half-jokes that she and her working-mom friends are "tired, fried, overworked, empty shells of women." In addition to giving advice for women trying to balance it all, Hatcher also refutes rumors that she's anorexic and says she's "ready to find a man to be with in a monogamous way."
Desperately in Love
After kissing a few frogs, the single mom finds love with Eva Longoria's ex, director Stephen Kay. Longoria, who dated Kay in 2004, gives the pair her blessing. Hatcher later tells Extra she's "totally in love" and calls her new beau "the most beautiful human being on the planet."

Teri Channels Carrie Underwood
For American Idol's benefit special, "Idol Gives Back," Hatcher is desperate to help out. In an opening skit, she walks in on her Housewives husband James Denton, who plays plumber Mike Delfino, under a bathroom sink with Carrie Underwood. Addressing Underwood, Hatcher says, "If you are going to steal my man, then I am going to steal your song." Hatcher takes center stage at Kodak Theatre and belts out Underwood's "Before He Cheats" with Band From TV, which includes Denton.
